FLIGHT SIMULATOR

We'll just file a flight-plan here from Olympia, Washington
(state)
to Seattle, then on to Victoria, British Columbia
(The orange dot on the SE point of "The Islands")

COOL Flight plan, HUH??? :-)

Taking off from Olympia in typical Seattle rain

BYE, Olympia !

Seattle, HERE WE COME, through the mist...

Flight Analysis screen shows us
coming into Seattle's approach path
and the lower part shows we're descending

Flying into the entryway of the approach path.
The concentric circles are a radio beacon I tuned into
that helped guide me there.
The vertical line higher up is the runway we're headed for.

Oh goodie goodie !!
The instruments got us right here, all right.
The black rectangle with the white dashes is our runway.
Top circular guage, right side,
right above the one with the tan downward arrow
is now tuned into ILS which is a specific guide
RIGHT TO THE RUNWAY ITSELF
(From further away it was just tuned to the airport)
The vertical line indicates we're lined up with the runway.
The horizontal line pointing slightly downward is indicating
we really should be a bit lower already
DROP SOME DARN ALTITUDE, PILOT ! (LOL)
Just up and left from that is the altimiter
indicating we're at about 1200 feet (runway is at 433 feet)

We've dropped to 760 feet and are almost at touchdown

On the ground !!
(Runway #34 meaning it points at 340 degrees on the compass,
almost due-north)

Now if I can JUST get a MONSTER cheeseburger
or a huge hot turkey sandwich
in one of those buildings over there !!
HAHAHAHAHAHA

Next morning after my cheeseburger and a hotel room
for the night,
The weather had worsened SUBSTANTIALLY.
We are lost in the clouds with near-zero visibility
Thank HEAVEN I'm "instrument-rated" :-)

However, north of Seattle,
we broke into sunny skies and GORGEOUS scenery!

Passing over Washington State's
"Snohomish" Airport
(Always makes me think that's Indian
for the Abominable Snowman)
